TV Ratings

Nielsen Ratings are used by advertisers to see how many viewers are watching a given show. They are important because they usually determines if a show gets renewed or cancelled. A sample of people have Neilsen boxes on their TV sets that tell Neilsen what shows they are watching.

To find out how your favorite show is doing in the ratings, Neilsen publishes two numbers: ratings points (one point represents 1% of households for any given TV season) and the share (the percentage of television sets in use tuned to a specific program). These numbers are usually reported as (ratings points/share).

When assessing the TV rating, it's important to take into account other factors. For example, on some TV stations like Cartoon Network, all the shows get higher ratings than the highest rated show on Kids' WB!. It's also important to take into account the lead-in show as well as shows competing against Pokemon for the same age group because those could cause lower ratings.

Below is a list of the Neilsen Ratings for each Saturday airing from 2002 onwards of either new or repeat episodes of Pokemon. This page will be updated whenever new data is available.
